400 women SMEs confirm to participate at Sabasaba fair

Four hundred women entrepreneurs have registered to participate in the 47th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) scheduled to start at the end of next month.

The Tanzania Women Chamber and Commerce (TWCC) Executive Director, Ms Mwajuma Hamza told the ‘Daily News’ that they are expecting the number to increase because they have a month at hand to the opening of the fair.

“We will continue to motivate women entrepreneurs to participate in the exhibition. The fair is place to secure new markets,” said Ms Hamza.

She said that the ‘Sabasaba’ exhibition is a springboard to find both local and international reliable markets.

TanTrade Acting Director Trade Promotion, Mr Fortunatus Mhambe said in this year’s exhibition they will have a platform to build a network.

“The platform will have exhibitors from several sectors such as mining, construction, environment, youth and women and so forth.

“This will attract visitors from abroad and domestic including traders and investors to show case the quality of their products,” said Mr Mhambe.

Some 100 foreign companies from the 14 foreign countries and 1188 local companies have confirmed to participate in the exhibition that carries a slogan ‘Tanzania is the Right Place for Business and Investment’.
