Tanzania maintains winning streak in T20 WC qualifiers

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA has extended its winning streak by defeating Ghana by seven wickets with 38 balls remaining in the ongoing T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Dar es Salaam.

This victory serves as a response to Ghana’s earlier win in their previous match.

Ghana’s captain, Obed Harvey, won the toss and his team posted 84 runs for 9 wickets in their 20 overs at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).

Harvey contributed a solid 30 runs off 44 balls, providing some resistance for the Western African side.

However, Tanzania’s chase was decisive, as they reached 88 runs for 3 wickets in just 13.4 overs.

Muhammad Zalfar Khan was a standout performer for the hosts, scoring 24 runs off 17 balls, supported by Akhil Anil, who added 19 runs from 16 balls.

This victory marks Tanzania’s fourth consecutive win in the tournament, solidifying their reputation as a formidable team.

On Tuesday, Tanzania triumphed over Cameroon, with Laksh Bakrania delivering an exceptional bowling performance, taking four wickets for just six runs in 2.1 overs, leading to a dominant 9-wicket victory.
