Ambassador backs Kiswahili classes for Comoros

COMORO: THE newly appointed Tanzanian Ambassador to The Comoros, Saidi Yakubu, has pledged his support for establishing Kiswahili classes in Bangoi Kuoni.

Ambassador Yakubu made the commitment upon his arrival in the city to assume his new responsibilities. Expressing gratitude for being awarded honorary residency, he promised to uphold the traditions and commitments established by his predecessors.

During his visit, he had the opportunity to tour several local attractions, including the Miracle Mosque and observed various development projects initiated by the local community and government.

Upon his arrival in Bangoi Kuoni, he engaged in discussions with city authorities regarding collaboration with Tanzanian cities.

During the welcoming event, residents of Bangoi Kuoni honoured Ambassador Yakubu with honorary residency.

City leaders explained that it has long been their tradition to work closely with Tanzanian ambassadors and to celebrate the historical ties between their city and Tanzania, particularly Zanzibar and Tanga.

They also highlighted visits from notable Tanzanian leaders, including the late former President Ali Hassan Mwinyi, former President of Zanzibar Amani Abeid Karume and the late opposition leader Maalim Seif Sharif Hamad, along with others who had origins in the city.
