Bagamoyo DC surpasses revenue collection target

COAST REGION: BAGAMOYO District Council has collected a total of 6.3bn/-, achieving 108.3 per cent of its annual target.

The District Commissioner Ms Halima Okash has congratulated the District Council for exceeding its revenue collection target for the financial year 2023/2024.

At a recent council meeting, Ms Okash commended the officials for their outstanding performance and urged them to maintain diligent oversight of the funds to ensure that planned projects are executed effectively.

She also emphasised the importance of continued collaboration with residents to address their challenges and work towards solutions.

In a related development, a member of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) National Council from the Coast Region, Ms Mariam Ulega encouraged women in the region to unite and support each other to achieve their goals.

Speaking at the Mkuranga District UWT Council meeting, Ms Ulega stressed that peace and understanding among women are crucial for the success of their projects.

“It is essential for us as women to share a common vision and avoid forming groups that oppose each other. By working together, we can achieve our goals more effectively and overcome any obstacles,” she said.

Ms Ulega also encouraged women to prepare themselves confidently for leadership positions in the upcoming local government elections scheduled for November this year.
