Beach Soccer team eye international friendlies

DAR ES SALAAM: NATIONAL Beach Soccer coach Jaruph Juma has unveiled that they are now planning to go outside the country to play more friendly matches to keep the squad strong and in good shape.
The country’s envoys are building up for the 2024 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BAFCON) finals in Egypt next month.
Tanzania earned direct qualification for the finals following the withdrawal of Uganda who allegedly pulled out of the qualifiers thereby enabling Tanzania to progress unopposed.
“So far, we have played five domestic signal testing matches and managed to win all of them, so it’s high time to seek extra friendly games outside the country.

“We will inform the public which country we intend to head to engage in the friendlies and we hope that while there, we will get the right test similar to the competitive nature we will be exposed to in Egypt,” he said.
He added that so far, he is convinced with the way his charges are responding to the training sessions insisting that they want to do well in the BAFCON finals.
“The fact that we have won five friendly games is not a guarantee that we are good to go… still, we deserve to play several buildup encounters hence the reason we are heading outside the nation,” he said.
He then used the opportunity to call for maximum support from Tanzanians throughout this preparation period for them to record the intended result of the contest.
“Until now, we do not have official sponsors of Beach Soccer as such, I request stakeholders to come aboard and render a helping hand for us to do well and bring home the demanded victory.
“I am sure that if we manage to get full backing, then we will be able to perform better. That is why we ask for full cooperation from our stakeholders,” he said.
