CCM delegation leaves for China

Dodoma, TANZANIA: A DELEGATION of Chama Cha Mpinduzi (CCM) leaders, led by the party’s Secretary General Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, left on Friday for a nine-day visit to China, purposely to cement the existing good relationship with the Chinese Communist Party (CPC).

According to the statement released by the party’s Secretary for Political Affairs and International Relations, Rabia Abdallah Hamid, the delegation will be in China from August 23rd to August 31st, this year.

The party leaders have been invited by the CPC.

“The aim of this visit is to strengthen the historical relationship between CCM and CPC. The visit also aims at cementing the diplomatic relations between Tanzania and China, which has existed for six decades now,” she said.

She said during the visit, Dr Nchimbi and his delegation will hold talks with CPC leaders. She said the leaders from both sides will exchange ideas and leadership experience especially on issues related to economy, education and technology.

“The visit also gives an opportunity for Tanzanian leaders to learn from their Chinese counterparts on how to run large–scale development projects. Tanzania and China have enjoyed a very special relationship that dates back from the days of the generation of leadership of the founding fathers of the nations, namely the late Mwalimu Julius. Nyerere, Abeid Aman Karume and Chairman Mao Zedong, Premier Zhou Enlai and later Supreme Leader Deng Xioping. The two countries established bilateral relations in 1964.
