China pledges to transform JKCI

CHINA, Beijing: The Chinese government said on Thursday it would push for more financial support to the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) partly to transform the latter into the top cardiac centre in the continent.

China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) Chairman, Mr. Luo Zhohui told Tanzania’s Finance Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba in Beijing the new support will cover construction of modern buildings, installation of modern medical equipment and training.

The two had met briefly during Dr. Mwigulu’s official working visit in China. The two vowed to continue promoting cooperation between the two countries.
