COMMUNITY SHIELD: Azam surrender, Young Africans march on

TANZANIA, Tanga Young Africans have gallantry marched into the finals of the 2023 Community Shield after a 2-0 win over Azam.

The triumph at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga on Wednesday evening pushes the Jangwani based giants further into the min-tournament.

Two second half goals by substitutes Stephanie Aziz Ki and Clement Mzize have powered the defending champions to the finishing line of the contest.

With the outcome, Yanga will play either Simba or Singida Fountain Gate who interface in another last four clash tomorrow at the same venue.

For Azam, they will battle for the third place finish on Sunday versus Simba or Singida Fountain Gate.

Just seven minutes into the game, Yanga were compelled to make unplanned change as winger Mahlatse Makudubela was ejected after picking an injury.

He was replaced by Crispin Ngushi who was also substituted mid-way into the second half.
