CRDB, Samsung enable customers buy phones on credit 

CRDB Bank has partnered with Samsung Tanzania to enable its customers buy mobile phones on credit thus giving opportunity to own the mobile devices while paying on installments.

CRDB’s Head of Card Business, Mr Farid Seif made the remarks during the partnership agreement held on Thursday in Dar es Salaam.

“The bank said currently 96 per cent of the lender’s transactions are carried through digital platforms, where SimBanking takes a lion’s share,” he said.

In this initiative, customers will be able to pay using their credit cards or through SimBanking mobile app.

Additionally, “Once you visit Samsung shops with Premium Banking service, you will only deposit 20 per cent to place the order while the remaining amount will be paid upon arrival of the gadget,”

He added that during the payment completion, at least 10 per cent will be deducted if you make bank payment services.

Samsung’s Head of Acquisition and Devices, Mr Mgope Kiwanga said customers who will be purchasing the said phones in markets, will benefit from the deduction.

He added that, the buyers will also receive the wrist watch or ear pods depending on the type of phone being purchased.
