DAR ES SALAAM: THE Reunion Legends Tanzania has resolved to give flair to the four Eastern African countries named Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, and Zambia crickets Legends to participate in this year’s Tour.

Dinesh Vaishnav senior administrator for the Reunion Cricket Legends of Tanzania and team Tanzania coordinator revealed to the ‘Daily News’ yesterday that preparation for the tour is on top gear.

The tour brings together cricket Legends living abroad and those living in the country.

“Organising Tanzania team headed by Legend Bashir Tejani is sending special invitations to the selected living cricket Legends from Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, and Zambia.

“We decided to invite them with the idea of renewing acquaintances of old days and resurrecting the history of cricket in East Africa.

He added that the decision to extend these invitations was a follow-up to their call to form a link that brings back EA Legends for a common aim which is love of the game and be an inspiration to young cricketers.

The call was made by Vaishnav who represented TZ Legends Reunion Group at the Reunion event for Kenya Legends in Nairobi last year.

“Legends strongly feel that in whichever possible way we should contribute towards the well-being of cricket and cricketers…it is hoped that about 30 participants who played the game at national, regional and international level will be at the Reunion.

“Again, Legends will be participating in the Cricket Festival of the Patel Brotherhood Patel Samaj (PBPS) Cricket Club and engage in interactive exhibition with Tanzanian cricketers,” he said.

Vaishnav also appeals for the Legend’s support to make the event successful.

In 2022 the legends living abroad and those from Tanzania for the first time reunited at the special festival organised in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.

The Reunion has so far organised a second tour to be held in Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo, Coast region in October this year.

The October tour is also part of the sports tourism boosts.
