DCB sponsors over 1000 teachers’ trip to Mikumi
DAR ES SALAAM: DCB Commercial Bank has sponsored a trip for over 1000 teachers using the SGR train from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro and then to Mikumi.
This initiative aims to promote domestic tourism and provide teachers with valuable experiences that will benefit their students.
Speaking at the farewell event for the teachers from Dar es Salaam, held at the SGR station in the city on Saturday, DCB’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sabasaba Moshingi, stated that the bank had collaborated with the Office of the Regional Commissioner to provide the teachers with the opportunity to visit Mikumi National Park.
The experience will help them teach their students about the tourism attractions they witnessed.
“DCB is owned by the Dar es Salaam City Council, where these teachers are from. I advised them to use our bank’s improved services, such as savings accounts, various insurance options, and loans with favorable terms, to improve their lives and avoid falling into the hands of institutions offering loans with harsh and difficult terms,” he said.
The bank’s Business Director, Mr. Ramadhan Mganga, emphasized that DCB is a true lifeline for Tanzanians, providing various services and products that meet the banking needs of the population.
He encouraged the teachers and all Tanzanians to take advantage of the services.
Additionally, Mr. Mganga mentioned that to facilitate the trip, the bank sponsored 30 buses to transport the teachers from Morogoro to Mikumi, recognizing the teachers’ contributions to the bank’s development.
Earlier, speaking at the event, Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Mr. Albert Chalamila praised DCB for organizing the teachers’ trip.

He stated that his office would continue to organize trips for other groups as part of a long-term strategy to promote the SGR train.
“This tour will not only enhance the teachers’ knowledge through the Mikumi visit but also boost the ongoing Royal Tour campaign,” he said.
