Dr Jesca Nkwabi: Tanzanian scoops Young African Business Leader award

DAR ES SALAAM: Tanzanian Dr Jesca Mhoja Nkwabi has been honored with the prestigious Young African Business Leader of the Year award at the 2024 African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA).
This recognition celebrates her outstanding achievements as the CEO of KOM Group in Tanzania, where she has significantly contributed to business growth and youth empowerment across the continent.
The ABLA event, organized by the African Leadership Magazine, aims to celebrate exceptional corporate practices and leaders within Africa’s business landscape.
Dr Nkwabi’s leadership in diversifying KOM Group’s operations including cotton ginning, edible oil production, and various industrial goods showcases her dedication to socio-economic development in Tanzania and beyond.
Her role as Chairperson of Young Women Entrepreneurs and member of Women Power Africa further underscores her commitment to fostering economic growth and gender equality.

Dr Nkwabi holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Finance from De Montfort University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of the West of Scotland, achieving her doctorate at the remarkable age of 27.
She has also completed leadership development training at both Oxford University and Harvard University.
With extensive experience working on global projects, Dr Nkwabi has established herself as a leading figure in multiple industries.
She serves as the Chairperson of Young Women Entrepreneurs and is a member of Women Power Africa, the Women Empowerment Network, and Lioness of Africa.
The African Business Leadership Awards is renowned for celebrating excellence in leadership, innovation, and economic impact across the continent.
The award ceremony was a highlight of the ALM Africa Summit London 2024, a premier platform for high-level networking, collaboration, and the formation of strategic partnerships aimed at addressing challenges and driving transformative change in Africa.
