Female teachers in Serengeti get gas stoves

TANZANIA Teachers Union (TTU) in Serengeti District through women’s division has received 190 gas stoves worth 9.5m/- from Taifa Gas.

The gas stoves were handed over to 190 primary and secondary school teachers in Serengeti. Some of the secondary schools   of which their teachers benefited from the donation include Mapinduzi, Natta and Makundusi secondary schools and Kambarage, Mapinduzi and Mugumu primary schools.

Speaking during the handing over of the stoves on Thursday, Serengeti District Commissioner, Dr Vicent Mashinji, expressed gratitude to Taifa Gas Company for supporting teachers.

Dr Mashinji commended various development stakeholders for continuing to provide support in various fields of development in Serengeti district.

He asked Taifa Gas Company to help them deliver gas stoves in prisons in order to reduce cutting down of trees that leads to the destruction of environment.

Taifa Gas representatives, Mr Rhimo Nyansaho said that his company will continue to support the community.

“The provision of these gas stoves will help in the conservation of the environment and save the time for teachers in getting food for themselves in school,” he said.

TTU Chairman in Serengeti District Lusawi Mayala commended the female teachers for collaborating with Taifa Gas and be provided with the gas stoves.

Mr Mayala said that many teachers stay outside the work stations so the stoves will help them a lot in preparation of foods and get breakfast in the morning.

He has asked various development stakeholders to come forward in large numbers to ensure that they help the teachers in Serengeti District.
