Fountain Gate bring Premier League to Manyara

MANYARA: MANYARA football devotees will this year have the opportunity to enjoy premier league games after Fountain Gate FC picked Tanzanite Stadium located in Babati, Manyara region as its temporary home ground.
The Mwanza region based side which will feature in the forthcoming 2024/25 premier league has decided to pick Tanzanite Stadium as its home ground temporarily home for the 2024/25 season due to ongoing repairs at their Gwambina Stadium in Misungwi.
Formerly known as Singida Fountain Gate the club relocated from Singida to Mwanza, acquiring the Gwambina Stadium from Gwambina FC as its home ground.
The club’s spokesperson Issa Liponda unveiled that the reason behind their decision to pick the stadium to host their topflight league matches was due to its strategic location and excellent facilities “Tanzanite Kwaraa is a top-notch stadium with a conducive environment for training.
Babati’s central location makes it easily accessible for both our team and visiting opponents. The passion of the Babati people also played a significant role in our decision,” disclosed.

This move is significant for Manyara region, as it marks the first-time premier league matches will be hosted live in Babati, benefiting not only local fans but also nearby districts such as Hanang, Kateshi, Simanjiro, and Mbulu.
In a related development, Fountain Gate FC has introduced Mohamed Muya as their new Head Coach.
Muya, who previously coached the club’s youth team, will be supported by assistant coach Mohamed Lizer, fitness coaches Robert Kasiga and Ally Mustafa, and team physician Elisha Simon.
Furthermore, Fountain Gate Sports Academy’s CEO, Kelvin Heri, announced plans for a youth talent scouting event targeting U-20 players in Babati.
Scheduled from July 26th to July 28th at Singe Secondary School, this initiative aims to identify promising young talents born between 2005 and 2007.
Heri emphasized the academy’s commitment to nurturing youth talent through various developmental programs.
Overall, Fountain Gate FC’s decision to relocate temporarily to Babati signifies their dedication to expanding their influence in Tanzanian football, promising an exciting season ahead both on and off the field.
