Geita TC sees 90pc surge in building materials revenue

GEITA: GEITA Town Council has reported a remarkable 90 per cent increase in revenue from building materials, thanks to enhanced management and stricter controls on illegal trade.
Director Mr. Yefred Myenzi announced that monthly revenue has surged from 2 million/- to 20 million/-.
This success is attributed to improved smuggling detection and the implementation of Point of Sale (PoS) systems.
“We are pleased with our progress in collecting taxes on sand, gravel, and crushed stones, especially with the rise in construction activities,” Mr. Myenzi stated.
