Govt stresses on building healthier society

DODOMA: THE government has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing public health challenges such as cholera outbreaks and promoting a healthier society.
Speaking in Dodoma, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Water, Eng Mwajuma Waziri, also directed all water utilities to ensure accurate data is filed into MaJIS and NISMS systems to help improve self-assessments and monitoring of services offered to the public.
She made the statement when speaking at the closing event of the First National Sanitation Conference organised by the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA).
“It is evident that these systems have been instrumental for the Ministry, EWURA and other stakeholders in quickly and easily accessing of data. Therefore, we must ensure that accurate information is provided to achieve the intended purpose,” she said.
She emphasised the importance of continued oversight and accountability in implementing sanitation guidelines, commending EWURA’s efforts for bringing together sanitation stakeholders.
