High hopes as Simba intensify pre-season drill

ISMAILIA: SIMBA’S Media and Communication Manager, Ahmed Ally has unveiled that morale in the team is high as pre-season drills intensify ahead of the new 2024/25 season campaign.
The Reds have pitched their preseason training camp in Ismailia, Egypt under the tutelage of the new coach, Fadlu Davids who together with his assistants officially joined the squad on Wednesday.
“I can say that all the players are positively responding to the training programme they are having and each of them is aware that they have a big task to deliver for the club and supporters.
“Even the new players are aware that they have joined a big club that did not perform well in the past three seasons, and they need to work hard to bring back smiles on Simba fans.
“Here at the camp, all players are serious with what they are being tasked to do and this gives us confidence that next season, we will be able to win major titles and regain our lost glory. “In terms of weather, it is ideal for us to conduct our sessions freely and it provides a good platform for players to concentrate and fully focus on what they are supposed to do,” Ally said.

Concerning ‘Simba Day’ that is scheduled to be staged on August 3rd at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, he said procedures are unfolding well to make it the best.
“Before we came here for the camp, preparations for the Simba Day had already started and we have another team there (Dar es Salaam) which is working tirelessly on that,” he said.
This will be the 25th anniversary of the Simba Day after its inception in 2009, and several activities are usually lined up, including parading the full squad plus playing a friendly match.
Next season, Simba and Coastal Union will represent the country in the CAF Confederation Cup, a status they got after finishing last season on third and fourth slots respectively.
According to recent remarks by Ally, their target in the Confederation Cup will be to win the title, insisting that they will do whatever it takes to achieve that feat.
