‘Huba’ stars colour soccer tournament to mark SGA’s 40th anniversary
DAR ES SALAAM: SGA security, the leading private security company in Tanzania has marked 40 years of service in style by hosting a spectacular corporate soccer tournament that was coloured by actors of the local popular series, ‘Huba’.
The exciting tournament took place on Monday at the Masaki Sports Park and brought together 24 teams that battled it out in tight matches that left spectators cheering loudly hence livening the venue that was a bee hive of activities.
Five top actors of the Huba Series including Rammy Galis aka Dev, Ibrahim Omary aka Fabrizo, Tito Zimbwe aka Roy, Ben Kinyaiya aka Judi and Haji Salum aka Chidi did not disappoint as they took part in the matches under their team, Huba Football Club and also took time to engage and socialize with the participants.
Maendeleo Bank lifted the overall trophy after a thrilling final against Akiba Commercial Bank, which ended 3-1 in favour of Maendeleo after a penalty shoot out.
Other teams that took part in the daylong event that went along with thrilling music from the DJ included, SGA Security, Dar es Salaam Inter club, Ramada Resort Hotel, Equity Bank, Sali international Hospital, KCB Bank, Kampala International University, Team Uganda, Mowara, Bank of Africa, Exim Bank, Selcom Bank, Inter Tek, Impala Terminals, Tanzania Cigarette Public Limited Company (TCC Plc), Absa Bank, NBC Bank, Puma Energy,Tusiime School and Kairuki University Hospital.
Speaking during the tournament, the Kinondoni District Administrative Secretary Warda Abdallah Obathany hailed SGA Security for the tremendous success over the past 40 years of service in Tanzania including employing over 5000 employees across Tanzania.

She commended SGA for this milestone and urged other investors through ought the country to continue creating more job opportunities for Tanzanians.
“As government we applaud you for your achievements so far and we call upon other companies to emulate what you have done today by inviting other institutions to join you in marking 40 years through this football tournament that also enhances fitness and good health among employees,” she said.
She called on the SGA Security to ensure the event becomes a yearly event that will bring together even more institutions.
The SGA Tanzania Managing Director, Eric Sambu thanked all the SGA customers for their entire support and enabling them to mark the 40 years of service successfully.

“We are delighted to be marking 40 years in style by bringing together 23 teams in this corporate soccer tournament that has been exciting and quite competitive. We thank the Huba series crew for agreeing to be part of the tournament,” he said.
He further noted that the tournament also helped employees from different institutions to keep fit and fight non commutable diseases that have become a major threat within work places.
Huba Series representative, Rammy Galis aka Dev lauded SGA Security for marking 40 years and for organizing the tournament, which brought them closer to their fans as they did not just play football but interacted with them too.
