Ilemela DC collects 12bn/- in three months

ILEMELA District Council has collected over 12bn/- between January and March this year, equivalent to 90 per cent of the targeted 13.5bn/- in the current financial year.
The District Executive Director (DED), Mr Modest Apolinary, made the revelation during the Ward Councilors’ meeting over the weekend, clarifying that:
The amount has been channeled into the improvements of various social services, including 1.5bn/-, that has been allocated for the construction of a 1.5 kilometer feeder road to the newly constructed Ilemela District Hospital and installation of the chimney in the hospital premises.
It will also be spent for the construction of a 0.14 kilometer Igombe road and the construction of water well at the council’s head office in Buswelu.
“About 30m/- were for buying desks for Kahama Primary School and 429,000/- for payment of the technicians who installed wiring at a dormitory for children with special needs at Buswelu Primary School,” he said.
It was further noted that 16m/- has been spent for the construction of a teachers’ house in the Nyamh’ongolo Primary School, while 20m/- has been channeled into completion of two classrooms at Bugogwa Primary School.
The meeting was further informed that over 28m/- was for completion of seven classrooms and two offices at Shibula Primary School, while 15m/- has been allocated for the construction of ten toilets at Shibula Primary School and 21m/- for the completion of two classrooms at Buyombe Primary School.
