Kagera residents hail Samia during Uhuru Torch rally

KAGERA: KAGERA residents have hailed President Samia Suluhu Hassan for implementing numerous people-oriented projects that have benefitted many Tanzanians in various sectors including health, education, water and energy sectors.

Kagera Regional Commissioner (RC) Fatma Mwassa made the remarks yesterday as the Uhuru Torch 2024 continues with its race in region to make evaluation, inspect and lay foundation stones on various projects.

“On behalf of all Kagera residents I thank President Samia Suluhu Hassan for implementing numerous people-oriented projects that have benefitted many Tanzanians in various sectors including health, education, water and energy sectors,” she said.

She explained that while in Kagera the Uhuru Torch will make evaluation, inspect and lay foundation stones on 55 development projects worth 54.7bn/- funded by the government and development partners.

On his part, Godfrey Mnzava, head of the Uhuru Torch 2024 race explained that the event symbolises unity and development while also appealing to Tanzanians to conserve the environment and actively participate in the local elections slated for later this year for a sustainable future.

The Uhuru Torch has been disseminating important messages on various social issues including corruption, HIV/AIDS, malaria, drug use and nutrition.
