Kengold’s Lukindo yearns for efficacious 2024/25 campaign

MBEYA: MBEYA-based Premier League side, Kengold FC recently recruited winger, Herbert Lukindo has disclosed major goal for his new side as to help them excel in the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Lukindo, the former Biashara United player who has penned down a one-year contract with Kengold made the remarks yesterday during an exclusive interview.

Kengold was recently promoted to the top flight league.

Apart from expressing his faith in his new club, the former Ndanda FC, Mgambo Shooting and Mbao FC prolific player called upon the Mbeya football fraternity to support their team to enable perform well in the league, despite being their first season in it.

On his part, the club’s General Secretary, Benson Mkocha unveiled that apart from Lukindo, they have managed to sign other players.

He mentioned them and teams they come from in brackets as Aron Kalambo (Dodoma Jiji) and Ally Ramadhan (Kagera Sugar) for a one-year contract respectively.

Also recruited by the club are Haji Ugando (Coastal Union) and Joshua Seleman and the club is still looking to search for more players as part of strengthening their team ahead of the 2024/25 league season.

Kengold has currently pitched its pre-season training camp in Tukuyu district due to the conducive weather of the area which will enable the team to train smoothly without any other disturbances for the players.

“When they are in the city, there are a lot of fans and interaction and other obstacles, we have decided to hide them here so that they can only concentrate on their training also since the league will begin in the winter period, we saw Tukuyu will be a suitable place to be,” he said.

Kengold FC Head, Coach Fikiri Elias said that the ongoing signing focuses on the needs of the team and that they have decided to have a squad comprising young and experienced players who will be focused on achieving the goals set by the club.

Meanwhile, Simba SC have parted ways with striker Pa Omar Jobe after just six months at the club, as part of the team’s determination to reinforce itheir squad ahead of the continental and local league season campaigns.

Jobe joined the Msimbazi street-based side on January 15 this year from Kazakhstan Lague side, FC Zhenis but the player failed to make a lasting impact during his brief tenure.

This decision comes amidst a summer of significant changes at the club, as they aim to elevate their performance for the upcoming season.

Simba have been busy in the transfer market, bidding farewell to several players, including Shabani Chilunda, Henock Inonga, Saido Kanoute, Kennedy Juma, Luis Miquissone, and Saido Ntibanzonkiza.

In contrast, they have welcomed new talents such as Kelvin Kijili and Yusuph Kagoma, both from Singida Black Stars, along with Debora Fernandes Mavambo, Karaboue Chamou, Valentin Nouma, Joshua Mutale, Jean Charles Ahoua, Abdulrazack Hamza and Augustine Okajepha.

As the club continue to reshape their roster, fans will be eager to see how the changes will influence their performance in the upcoming season.
