Mbeya crash death toll hits 12

As the death toll from the Mbeya crash rises to 12, the Police Force has stated that initial details suggest the accident was caused by the bus driver’s recklessness.

Addressing journalists on Friday, acting Mbeya Regional Commander, ACP Wilbert Siwa, said the AN bus driver failed to control the vehicle at a sharp corner before hitting the side of the road and overturning.

The fatal accident claimed the lives of passengers at Luanjilo in Mbeya Rural District on Friday morning.
The bus was traveling from Mbeya to Tabora.

Earlier, Chunya District Medical Officer, Dr. Darson Andrew, confirmed receiving all the bodies at the hospital, adding that of the 43 injured, four are in critical condition.
