Mining Commission stresses optimisation of investment opportunities

DODOMA. THE Mining Commission has expressed its commitment to ensuring that all players in the sector capitalise on the vast investment opportunities in Tanzania’s mining sector.
A geologist at the Mining Commission, Mr Patrick Machumu, said there were a number of strategies put in place by the commission to ensure that stakeholders are aware of the opportunities, noting that participating in the local and international exhibitions are among the platforms used to showcase the opportunities.
He made the statement at the just-concluded Agriculture, livestock and fisheries exhibition held at the national level at the Nanenane grounds on the city’s outskirts.
“Our aim is to showcase to Dodoma residents the numerous ways they can engage in the mining sector.
This includes providing services to mining companies, such as employment, security and supplying agricultural products,” Mr Machumu explained.
He also stressed the Commission’s commitment to supporting all Tanzanians interested in investing in the mining sector.

“We are utilising various platforms to highlight these opportunities, including TV and radio programmes, forums and exhibitions. Our goal is to make the information accessible and to encourage local participation,” he added.
The Nanenane Exhibitions, a significant event in Tanzania, serve as a platform for various sectors to present their innovations and opportunities.
The Mining Commission’s presence at the event underscores its dedication to fostering growth and investment in the mining sector, which is a critical component of the country’s economic development.
The Commission’s initiatives aim to demystify the mining sector, making it more approachable for local investors and service providers.
By doing so, it hopes to stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities, contributing to the overall prosperity of the Dodoma region and Tanzania as a whole.
