Mwamnyeto out as Young Africans unveil squad against Merrikh

DAR ES SALAAM: Young Africans skipper Bakari Mwamnyeto will not be part of the squad to play El Merrikh on Saturday as he stays put to attend to family issues.

The two teams meet at Kigali Pele Stadium in Rwanda for the first leg match of the second preliminary round of CAF Champions League (CAF CL).

On Thursday, Yanga through their verified Instagram page released a full list of players groomed for the Kigali assignment with Mwamnyeto’s name missing.

The list has Goalkeepers: Djigui Diarra, Metacha Mnata and Abutwalib Mshery.

Defenders: Dickson Job, Ibrahim Bacca, Gift Fred, Kibwana Shomari, Mutambala Lomalisa, Nickson Kibabage and Kouassi Yao.

Midfielders: Khalid Aucho, Jonas Mkude, Zawadi Mauya, Mudathir Yahya, Salum Abubakar, Farid Mussa, Chrispin Ngushi, Jesus Moloko, Denis Nkane and Mahlatse Makudubela.

Strikers: Maxi Nzengeli, Pacome Zouzoua, Stephanie Aziz Ki, Kennedy Musonda and Hafiz Konkoni.

However, the club’s Media and Communication Manager Ally Kamwe conceded that Mwamnyeto has family issues to attend with full blessings from the technical bench and management.
