NBC PREMIER LEAGUE Pamba, Prison faceoff today

MWANZA: THE NBC Premier League is set to commence today with an eagerly anticipated match between newly promoted side Pamba Jiji and Tanzania Prisons.
The clash will take place at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, marking a historic moment for Pamba Jiji, who have spent decades striving for a spot in the top flight of Tanzanian football.
Pamba Jiji, celebrating their promotion after a long wait, are poised to deliver a thrilling opening game for their fans.
The Mwanza-based team is expected to offer a spectacle as they return to top-tier football.
Their pre-season form has been promising, with a notable 1-1 draw against Burundian champions Vital’O during the Pamba Day festival last weekend, indicating they are ready for the season ahead.
Following today’s match, Pamba Jiji will have another opportunity to showcase their capabilities when they face Dodoma Jiji at CCM Kirumba on August 24.

The team’s recent performances suggest they are well-prepared and eager to make their mark in the Premier League.
On the other hand, Tanzania Prisons, led by Assistant Coach Shabaan Kazumba, approach the new season with confidence but caution.
Despite their experience and quality in the Premier League, Kazumba emphasised that they will not underestimate their opponents.
Speaking with ‘Daily News’, Kazumba emphasised the extensive preparation his team has undertaken, acknowledging that Pamba Jiji are a formidable opponent, just like any other club in the league.
Consequently, Tanzania Prisons will approach the match with caution and respect for their adversaries.
“We have had a good preparation time because our camp in Dar es Salaam played five friendly games, winning four and drawing one,” Kazumba stated.
“Overall, we are fit and the expectation is victory against Pamba Jiji FC. Our registration has met all requirements, giving us confidence that we can secure a top four finish this season.”
