NEMC registers nearly 9,000 projects

DAR ES SALAAM – Minister for Industry and Trade, Dr. Selemani Jafo has hailed the National Environmental Management Council (NEMC) for successfully registering nearly 9,000 investment projects that are related with environmental conservation.
Speaking to the authority’s staff in Dar es Salaam to bid his farewell, the Minister said such huge investments are a reflection of the efforts made by the Authority.
“I congratulate you for managing these projects,” the minister said.
Jafo was appointed to lead the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a docket that was led by Dr. Ashatu Kijaji.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan transferred Dr. Ashatu from Industry and Trade to lead the Ministry of Union and Environment.

In his meeting with NEMC, Jafo urged the staff to cooperate with the new Union and Environment Minister, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji.
Director General of NEMC Dr. Immaculate Sware Semesi lauded Minister Jafo for the great work he had accomplished in the ministry.
She said part of the successful execution includes control of the use of mercury, implementing the ban on plastic bags and excessive noise.
