Opposition leaders cross to CCM

LINDI: PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa, a member of the Central Committee of the Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and the Member of Parliament for Ruangwa, has observed the return of several local government leaders from opposition political parties to CCM.
The leaders who have returned to CCM include two Councillors and a Ward Secretary from the Civic United Front (CUF) and ACT-Wazalendo .
The leaders included Mr Hussein Kimbyoko, a Councilor from Milola (CUF) and Mr Athumani Mmaije, a Councilor for Rutamba (ACT-Wazalendo).
On the first day of his tour, Mr Majaliwa visited Milola village and observed the formal introduction of the new party members led by the Mchinga Member of Parliament, Ms Salma Kikwete in a public meeting held over the weekend in Milola centre in Lindi Region.

On the second day of his visit to Ruangwa, Mr Majaliwa also welcomed two additional members who handed over their opposition party membership cards to the Ruangwa District CCM Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Issa Ndoro, during a public meeting held at Wandorwa grounds in Lindi region.
The new members included Alhaji Abasi Abdallah Chingwile from ACT-Wazalendo, a resident of Mmawa village in the Likunja ward and Jafari Juma Nang’anda from CUF, who previously served as the Election Director and Secretary of the Nachingwea ward.
Speaking after being received by CCM leaders, Mr Jafari Nang’anda expressed his confidence in the local CCM leadership, saying he is ready to work and put a lot of effort in supporting the party’s initiatives.
