Pamba Jiji enter series of crucial friendlies

MWANZA: AS the Mainland Premier League gears up for its return in just 10 days, Pamba Jiji FC are intensifying their preparations with a series of crucial friendlies.

The team is determined to fine-tune their squad through two key matches.

Their initial friendly against Geita Gold, held at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza ended in a 2-1 defeat.

The team is now setting sights on another challenging fixture against Stand United.

Pamba Jiji Team Manager, Ezekiel Nyangoma, spoke to the ‘Daily News’ about the lessons learnt from recent games, particularly the two goalless draws against Tanzania Prisons FC and Dodoma Jiji.

Nyangoma emphasised the importance of capitalising on scoring opportunities and converting them into goals.

“The Premier League is on a two-week hiatus due to the AFCON qualifiers break, and we are using this period to strengthen our squad through rigorous training and strategic friendly matches,” Nyangoma explained.

In addition to on-field improvements, Pamba Jiji FC’ Chairman, Bhiku Kotecha, highlighted the club’s commitment to supporting their players with financial incentives.

This season, the club has shifted from handing out post-match bonuses to directly depositing them into players’ accounts.

Kotecha detailed that last season, during the Championship League promotion phase, players received from 5m/- to 10m/- as prizes for their effort and so they hope to continue with offering as motivation to the players’ performance.

Looking ahead, Pamba Jiji FC’s fixture list includes matches against Singida Black Stars FC on September 15th and Mashujaa FC on September 21st, both at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.

After those, the team will travel to KMC Stadium to face Coastal Union FC on September 28th.

October will see Pamba Jiji take on Yanga SC on the 30th and Azam FC on the 21st, with both matches scheduled to be held at Azam Complex Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam.

The upcoming fixtures and the team’s rigorous preparation underscore Pamba Jiji’s determination to make a significant impact upon the league’s resumption
