President Samia argues traders to comply

President Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged traders and investors to comply with local and foreign regulations.

The Head of State assured the business community that her Government is throwing weight behind strengthening relations with regional blocks including the East African Cooperation (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) to expand the scope market for traders and investors.

Officiating the 14th meeting of the Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) in Dar es Salaam on Friday, President Samia said though Tanzania strives to intensify scope of market, investors and traders should comply with regulations.

“You see someone travelling with an unlicensed truck of maize to another country and when they get to the border they are stuck because they didn’t’ comply,” the President stated as she advices:

“Make sure to comply wherever you go to avoid this. Sometimes we send delegates for bilateral talks to solve the problem and reaching there you feel ashamed, the problem that got them stuck are just minor things that if they had complied with them there wouldn’t have been in that situation.”
