President Samia calls for proper land management

ZANZIBAR: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has instructed committees to convene for proper land planning, management, and administration as a proactive measure to avoid future land disputes.
The Head of State issued the directive today (Saturday, August 24, 2024) in Zanzibar, where she launched various development projects ahead of the Kizimkazi Festival 2024 climax, emphasizing that this measure is crucial at a time when the country is expecting an influx of investors.

“Kizimkazi is growing. Wherever you pass, you see construction projects in progress, and I bet that in three to four years, this place will be a complete town,” President Samia said.
“I know that we have tried at some point to plan and measure our lands, but looking at the speed we are going now, many people will come to seek land for investments. So, we should carefully look at the mapped areas,” the President added.
Meanwhile, President Samia reminded the planning committees to set aside land for burials, noting, “Once our days on earth come to an end, we shouldn’t lack a place to stay. Make sure you reserve a piece of land that will be used when God calls us,” she stated.
