President Samia hails Merck foundation

DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has commended the Merck Foundation for their outstanding work they have done for Africa over the years in the health and education sectors.
The Head of State expressed her appreciation during the inauguration of the 11th Annual Conference of the Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary held at Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam today.
Speaking during the colorful event, President Samia applauded the Foundation’s fundamental role in advocating for the health and education and improving the health of the communities in Africa and other parts of the world.
“I am pleased with what you have done in our societies,” she noted.
Additionally, President Samia noted that through the government efforts and determination, working together with the Merck Foundation have been successful in improving livelihoods and empowering women and girls through different projects that made the dreams of underprivileged girls such as building girls schools in every region and making sure girls of school age goes to school.

Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary is a yearly educational conference of Merck Foundation, conducted to contribute to the social and economic development of Africa and Asia.
The conference is attended by more than 6000 Healthcare Providers, Policy Makers, Academia, Researchers and Health Media from over 70 English, French, Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries annually.
