Prof Mkenda urges students to pursue science subjects

KILIMANJARO: THE Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adolf Mkenda, has emphasised the importance of students taking science subjects in their studies.
He said that science subjects will enable them to keep up with the world’s current demands for science and technology for the development of various sectors in the country.
He made the request recently in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region, when visiting Kibosho Vocational Training Centre (KIVTC).
“The world is currently facing different challenges such as climate change and its consequences, public health and many others that need scientific interventions. This makes science an essential part of our daily activities, so I urge students to pursue science subjects seriously,” he noted.
Speaking about the KIVTC Institution, Prof Mkenda commended the founders of the college and other contributing stakeholders because the technical facility will help students who miss chances to join secondary level education after primary school.
