The power station is located across the Kagera River, along Uganda’s International border with the Republic of Tanzania.

“Our historic and fraternal relation continues to improve day by day and of course particularly in areas of trade and investment as well as cultural and social engagement…This project has immensely contributed to that effect,” she said.
The president also said the project will improve transport and transportation of people in all trade activities as well as social service including clean and safe water, health services, better schooling and contemporary teaching modality.
“This power is going to bridge the communication gap between the urban and the rural setting as well as social engagement,” she said.

Commenting on the Musongozi power project, President Samia appealed to Uganda’s President to allow technical teams from both countries to work together on the project and come up with the modality of implementing it.
“My Government is ready for the project as we are now engaging heavily in rural power distribution …this is going to be very helpful to our mission, Tanzania is ready and I hope Uganda is ready too,” she noted.
