Shabiby Bus Company Manager: SGR has not affected bus business

DAR ES SALAAM: Manager of Shabiby Bus Company, Mr Muhsin Shabiby has assured that the introduction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) on the Dodoma route has not impacted their business operations.
He highlighted that different modes of transport serve different types of passengers, and bus travel remains popular despite the availability of SGR.
He emphasized that despite the new rail service, bus travel remains a vital and popular option for many Tanzanians.
Shabiby’s made the remarks on Monday during the inauguration of Yutong Company’s new Bus Service Center in Dar es Salaam.
This facility marks a significant investment in Tanzania’s transportation sector, providing a comprehensive range of services from bus assembly to maintenance.

Kellen Ziu, Manager of Yutong Tanzania, highlighted that the strong bilateral relationship between Tanzania and China plays a significant role in attracting Chinese investment to Tanzania.

He mentioned the government’s support for foreign investment and the favorable business environment are crucial factors encouraging the establishment of new services and infrastructure projects
Ziu also stressed that the new service center will not only enhance the local transportation infrastructure but also generate employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth.
The inauguration of the Yutong Service Center is seen as a positive step towards improving public transport services offering modern buses solutions.
