Simba Day sparkles in Dar

DAR ES SALAAM: DAR ES SALAAM was awash with red and white as Simba Day unfolded at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, setting the stage for a vibrant celebration that captivated fans and artists alike.
Amidst the anticipation surrounding the match between Simba and Rwandan champions APR, the day kicked off with a flurry of activities that thrilled the atmosphere.
During an electrifying event, President Samia Suluhu Hassan delighted Simba fans by personally connecting with them through a phone call to Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports, Gerson Msigwa.
She conveyed her heartfelt congratulations to the organisers of the event, praising the vibrant spirit of Simba Day.
Fondly recalling her experience from last year’s Simba Day at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, she reminisced about the electric atmosphere and camaraderie she witnessed among the club’s supporters.
President Samia further extended her best wishes to all involved in yesterday’s festivities and the upcoming season, expressing her optimism for the club’s continued success.
Her words resonated deeply with the fans, who responded with exuberant horn sounds, a symbolic gesture of their enthusiasm and support, echoing across the stadium as a spirited tribute to her speech.
On the big day, the stadium pulsated with excitement, adorned in the club’s iconic colours, as fans poured in to witness a spectacle of music and football.
Leading the charge was Ali Kiba, whose energetic performance of the club anthem ‘Simba Mnyama’ ignited the packed stadium.
Dressed in red and white, echoing the club’s colours, Ali Kiba’s connection with the fans was palpable as they sang and danced in unison, creating a wave of energy that reverberated throughout the venue. Joining him were Joh Makini and Dogo Janja, adding to the musical euphoria that gripped the crowd.
The festivities continued with a parade of players, guided by Simba’s Media and Communication Manager, Ahmed Ali.
