Simba envision major projects

DAR ES SALAAM: SIMBA Sports Club’s 2024 Annual General Meeting was a pivotal event as Board Chairman Mohammed Dewji (MO) unveiled an ambitious vision centred on the transformative Simba MO Arena project.
This initiative is set to revolutionise the club’s infrastructure and pave the way for continental success. In his address, Dewji reflected on the club’s remarkable seven-year journey, emphasising the unity and pride that have fueled Simba’s achievements.
“Our seven-year journey has strengthened our unity, brought pride and achieved great success for our club,” he remarked, urging all members to remain committed to the club’s ultimate goal of competing at the highest level and claiming the continental title.
Dewji’s return to leadership was motivated by a desire to implement a new system and realign the club with its grand vision.
“This is a shared journey and together, we can and will achieve these great ambitions,” he stated confidently.
In recent months, Simba SC has initiated significant changes to bolster its foundation for future success, including the signing of 14 new players, most notably Elie Mpanzu and the appointment of South African tactician, Fadlu Davids as a coach alongside a strengthened technical team.

Dewji emphasised that all these strategic moves, though financially demanding, are vital for Simba’s long-term vision. The highlight of the meeting was the unveiling of the Simba MO Arena blueprint.

This stateof-the-art training facility which will feature four modern football pitches, a gym, accommodation buildings, a nutrition centre, a swimming pool, an entertainment hub and a club museum.
Furthermore, a youth development academy will be established to nurture Tanzania’s football talent.
“This blueprint for Mo Simba Arena is a major step towards securing our future success,” Dewji stated, noting that the project will serve as a cornerstone for the club’s achievements and a catalyst for the growth of sports in Tanzania.
He also praised the government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan for its efforts to advance sports in the country.
“We congratulate President Samia for her exceptional leadership and her tremendous contributions to promoting sports in Tanzania,” he added.
Dewji called on Simba fans to remain united as the club undertakes the structural reforms necessary to launch the Simba MO Arena project.
“This is a challenging journey, but by working together, we can build a Simba capable of competing for the CAF Champions League title. These goals are not dreams they are achievable,” he emphasised.
Simba SC Chairman Murtaza Mangungu echoed Dewji’s sentiments, reaffirming the club’s commitment to supporting the infrastructure project and encouraging fans to continue backing the team.
“The club administration and board will fully support the execution of this project. We thank the government for their continued cooperation,” Mangungu concluded.
Simba SC has allocated a total budget of 28.437bn/- for the current season, with a significant portion designated for player transfers and salaries of the players.
The transfer and salaries section has been allocated 6.140bn/-, accounting for about one-fifth of the entire budget.
Additionally, 3bn/- from the budget will be used to settle debts incurred from the previous season’s expenditures.
