Singida held as draws herald the run

SINGIDA Fountain Gate were on Tuesday forced to a barren draw by visitors, Tanzania Prisons at Liti Stadium in Singida.

A highly contested encounter between the two sides saw the teams sharing points despite both showing promising attempts that would have lodged goals.

The draw tally for this season increased after Tuesday’s matches.

In just a minute after the kick-off, Mbagula found his way through Singida defenders but a timely tackle from Onyango stopped him.

After Onyango’s attempt, his teammate Dickson Ambundo thought he had scored, but the referee disallowed the goal for being offside. Ambundo had completed Vicent Kagoma’s set-piece.

Tanzania Prison made an attempt in the 22nd minute with Salum Kimenya’s powerful strike, but Singida’s goalkeeper, Benedict Haule, stood firm to stop the danger.
