Solicitor General, TLS team to promote alternative “dispute system’

DAR ES SALAAM: The Office of the Solicitor General, in collaboration with the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) and the Tanzania Public Bar Association (TPBA), have committed to work closely with the judiciary to promote alternative dispute resolution methods.
In the course, the initiative is aimed at reducing the backlog of cases in the courts.
This was announced by the Solicitor General, Dr. Ally Possi, during a meeting with TLS President Boniface Mwabukusi and TPBA representatives in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday.
The collaboration seeks to streamline the resolution of citizens’ disputes outside of court, facilitating quicker and more efficient solutions.

The three parties discussed their collective goals of enhancing legal professionalism and strengthening ethical standards among lawyers to foster positive impacts on society.
On his part, President of TLS, Mwabukusi emphasized that the legal profession should be utilized for the benefit of the country, particularly in supporting investment, and ensuring that the legal sector contributes to Tanzania’s economic, social, and political development.
He highlighted the importance of cooperation to build each other up and fulfil their responsibilities in ways that positively impact the country.
