State directs restoration of basic services in Ngorongoro

NGORONGORO, ARUSHA: PRESIDENT Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan yesterday directed the reinstatement of essential social services for the Ngorongoro Division residents in Arusha Region.
This was revealed by the Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister (Policy, Parliament and coordination), William Lukuvi, during his address to the residents of 11 wards in Ngorongoro.
The residents had gathered for five consecutive days, eager to hear the government’s response to their concerns.
Minister Lukuvi assured them that President Samia had responded to their complaints and made clear vthat the rights of all citizens to vote remained intact.
“No one is barred from voting.
The President has directed that everyone in Ngorongoro should vote just like any other Tanzanian,” Lukuvi said.
He emphasised that President Samia would soon arrange a meeting with representatives of the Ngorongoro community to directly address their concerns.
The President’s message also reaffirmed that the villages in Ngorongoro will remain as they are, with no changes in their status.
Mr Lukuvi also instructed the Arusha Regional Commissioner (RC) Paul Makonda to ensure that the President’s directives are implemented without fail.
In addition, the Minister noted that some services in the area had been poorly provided or stopped altogether and he ordered that all suspended services be fully restored, including those in the education and health sectors.
Lukuvi directed the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Mr Dunstan Kitandula to visit the areas and ensure the services are reinstated.
Meanwhile, Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs Prof Palamagamba Kabudi emphasised that every citizen had equal rights to live and engage in any activity in their country.
“Let’s safeguard our peace. Every citizen deserves equal treatment in their own country.
President Samia’s focus on reconciliation, resilience and other key principles underscores this commitment.
Let’s uphold our peace,” Prof Kabudi said.

Mr Makonda assured Ngorongoro residents that he will ensure timely implementation of all directives issued by President Samia and Minister Lukuvi.
He urged them to stay calm as the government continues to address their concerns.
Ngorongoro MP Emmanuel Shangay praised the visit by the two ministers and RC Makonda, stating that it would help restore calm in the area.
