“Support young medical researchers to enhance healthcare solutions”

KILIMANJARO: EDUCATIONAL stakeholders and the public in general have been urged to support the efforts of young medical researchers, which are crucial for advancing medical studies and improving people’s lives.

Chairman of the Board of Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University (KCMUCo), Bishop Dr Frederick Shoo, made the appeal at the conclusion of the second KCMUCo Scientific Conference held in Moshi, Kilimanjaro.

“Young researchers play a vital role in the medical field as they uncover new medical information. However, conducting research is expensive and they need support,” said Bishop Shoo.

He also called upon policymakers and institutions to ensure that research findings are effectively utilised to benefit the public, contributing to reduced treatment costs and saved lives.

“Research provides the foundation for effective healthcare solutions. Empowering researchers will enable more studies to be conducted, leading to advancements in medicine,” he added.
