Tabora United vows improvement

TABORA: AFTER escaping relegation, Tabora United Coach Bernard Fabian stated that they will address the shortcomings they experienced to have a successful 2024/25 NBC Premier League season.
The Tabora-based team secured a 2-1 aggregate victory over Biashara United in two playoff matches, securing their place in the league for the next season.
Patrick Lembo scored a goal in each half of the match, leading Tabora United to a 2-0 win at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora on Sunday that was enough to help them avoid relegation. Looking ahead, coach Fabian expressed his determination to improve the team to perform well in the upcoming season.
He emphasised the need for hard work to ensure a stronger performance next season.
“Since it is clear that the previous season was difficult for us, we must put in a lot of effort to make sure that we return stronger in the next season when perhaps things will go more smoothly for us,” he said.
The coach also expressed gratitude for support from the fans and described it as a historic achievement to have helped the team avoid relegation after promoting them into the premier league last season.
“Given that I was the one who elevated the team into the Premier League the previous season and that I performed well enough to keep it there for the upcoming season, I consider it a historic occasion to have helped the team avoid relegation,” he noted.

Reflecting on the game, he acknowledged the pressure they faced after trailing 1-0 following the first-leg match at Karume Stadium in Musoma.
He emphasised the importance of gaining confidence after scoring the opening goal in the first half and using that momentum to secure an additional goal in the second half.
On the other hand, Biashara United trainer, Aman Josiah lamented on lack of scoring efficiency by his team, while acknowledging their good performance throughout the 2023/24 season. He congratulated Tabora United and expressed his determination to seek another chance for league promotion in the next season.
“I thank God for enabling us to achieve this status and let me also thank the massive support from our fans that turned up in big numbers to give us the necessary backing,” he stated.
It is worth noting that the only teams promoted to the top-flight league from the championship league are Pamba FC from Mwanza and Kengold FC from Chunya, Mbeya The full 16-team lineup for the upcoming Premier League season consists of Young Africans, Azam, Simba, Coastal Union, KMC, Namungo, Dodoma Jiji, Kagera Sugar, Tanzania Prisons, JKT Tanzania, Ihefu, Mashujaa, Singida Fountain Gate, Tabora United, Pamba FC, and Kengold FC.
