Tanzania Beach Soccer team ready for BSAFCON finals

EGYPT: THE National Beach Soccer Team Coach, Jaruph Juma, has said that he is confident with his charges ahead of the 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) finals.
The Tanzania national beach soccer team departed on Wednesday for Egypt to participate in the tournament. The team has already arrived in Egypt, early to prepare for the upcoming competition.
The tournament will take place from October 19th to 26th in Hurghada, Egypt. This competition also serves as a qualification pathway for the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which will be held in Seychelles, with the winners and runners-up earning direct qualification.
Tanzania has been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, Morocco and Ghana. Meanwhile, Group B features Senegal, Mozambique, Malawi and Mauritania.

According to the fixture list, Tanzania will kick off their campaign against Morocco on October 19th, followed by a match against Egypt on October 21st and will conclude the group stage with a game against Ghana on October 22nd.
Speaking about the preparations, the team’s coach, Jaruph Juma, expressed his satisfaction with the progress. To be honest, our training sessions went well and the atmosphere in the camp was positive with each player fully focused on the finals. He acknowledged that Group A is challenging, especially with Egypt as one of their competitors, but emphasised that the team is committed to putting up a strong fight.
“Our group is not easy, which is why we are working hard to face all our opponents with confidence. Playing against the host nation (Egypt) indicates the level of competition, but we believe in ourselves. “We have dedicated players who are responding well to the training and with their experience in beach soccer tournaments, we are not afraid of any opponent. “Every player understands the importance of the upcoming contest. This hope that the squad remains injuryfree which would contribute to a strong performance throughout the competition,” he noted.
He remarked again: On the last tournament at Casablanca Cup 2024 in Morocco, the tournament provided valuable experience. We played against strong teams like Morocco, Belgium, and France and although the results were not in our favour, we learned important lessons that will be beneficial during the BSAFCON finals.
