Tanzania’s Premier League official broadcasters to acquire VAR

DAR ES SALAAM: It has been revealed that Azam, the Premier League’s official television broadcasters, are in the process of procuring a Mobile Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) President Wallace Karia disclosed this on Thursday in Dar es Salaam.
Karia stated that plans are underway for the Mobile VAR to be used for the first time during the upcoming CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, which will be staged in Zanzibar.
“Next season, we expect to have two sets of VAR in our Premier League, one to be installed at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, and the other will be a Mobile VAR. We are going to assess how best to use the two sets, considering equity,” he said.
He further revealed that they have already received documents regarding the VAR to be installed at the Benjamin Mkapa venue and are working on obtaining tax exemptions for the equipment.
