TAREA pledges eco-friendly solar technologies

DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzania Renewable Energy Association (TAREA), formerly known as the Tanzania Solar Energy Association (TASEA), has committed to support the government’s efforts in mitigating the impacts of climate change by ensuring that solar technologies entering the country are truly environmentally friendly.
Available statistics show that climate change is impacting Tanzania’s economic growth, resulting in an annual loss of one percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
TAREA Deputy Executive Secretary said the association will continue to create a friendly climate in collaboration with the government to ensure that areas that have not been reached by the national grid have access to alternative energy.
Ms Laswai made the remarks in Dar es Salaam on Friday at the launch of the partnership between Luminous and Swaminath Trading Company in association with Tandhan Group to collaborate to introduce advanced sustainable energy solutions.
“Solar technologies are significant ingredients in addressing the climate change challenges as it protect the environment by reduce carbon emissions,” TAREA Deputy Executive Secretary said.
She added that the partnership between two companies marks a significant milestone in the growth of the renewable energy sector in the country.
Ms Laswai added that the partnership of the companies is a testament to the maturing technology, the growing solar market, and the favorable business environment in Tanzania
“Our primary objective is to promote the increased use of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies across Tanzania Mainland.

We achieve this through extensive networking with stakeholders from both the private and public sectors, fostering an enabling environment for business growth in the renewable energy sector,” she pointed out.
For his part the Vice President for International Business, Luminous Power Technologies,
Revanand Haribhau Andhale, commited to deliver reliable and innovative energy solutions to the people of Tanzania.
“There is a growing power demand in the country, and we are confident that our top-of-the-line, advanced energy solutions will be very well received in the country,” he added.
Speaking on behalf, ChIef Executive Officer (CEO) for Swaminath Group, Mayur Solanki, the Business Development and Marketinh Adviser for the group Mr Silondwa Johns said the collaboration reflects their dedication to advancing technology and promoting sustainable energy..
