TCB commits to support flagship projects

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Comercial Bank (TCB) has reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting flagship projects through various banking products and services.
This was said by the TCB Chief Executive Officer, Adam Mihayo said in Dar es Salaam yesterday when unveiling the bank’s initiative aimed at providing customers easy access to Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) tickets.
“TCB has been main banking partner for SGR project having facilitated the importation of locomotives and wagons and provided loans to Yapi Merkezi contractors,” he said.
He said the ongoing construction, extending towards Kigoma near the borders with Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo, underscores the project’s potential to boost Tanzania’s economic growth and tourism sector.

Mr Mihayo added that the goal of supporting the project is to ensure customers can easily access and benefit from the SGR project.
“Our goal is to ensure that our customers can easily access and benefit from the SGR project by leveraging our extensive network of agents and the advanced digital capabilities of the TCB Popote app,” he said.
He said the bank secured the bid to offer fare collection services through innovative digital solutions, including Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs).
