Tony Elumelu to Co-Chair New Africa Summit at the 8th Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative

RIYADH: Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings and United Bank for Africa (UBA), as well as the Founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), will co-chair the New Africa Summit at the upcoming eighth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Themed “Infinite Horizons,” the FII will convene some of the world’s most influential leaders to explore how investment can act as a catalyst for a prosperous and sustainable future, pushing the boundaries of what is achievable for humanity. Elumelu will offer insights as both a business leader and a catalytic philanthropist.

Africa will take center stage in the discussions at FII, and Mr. Elumelu, a prominent advocate for Africa’s transformation agenda, will champion entrepreneurship and investment in youth as pivotal drivers for accelerating the continent’s economic growth and development.

He will draw from the impactful and unique model of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the leading philanthropic organization empowering a new generation of African entrepreneurs dedicated to poverty eradication and job creation across the continent.

On October 29, Mr. Elumelu will join other global business leaders in the Opening Plenary panel titled “Board of Changemakers: Banking & Investment,” where they will examine whether visionary leaders can create new economic systems that embrace innovation.

Highlighting the global interest in HH Group companies and the extensive HH investment portfolio, the Forum will also feature other senior executives from Heirs Holdings:

Owen Omogiafo, President and Group CEO of Transcorp Group, one of Africa’s leading listed companies with strategic investments in the power, hospitality, and energy sectors, will participate in the HERizon Summit alongside global female leaders in the energy sector to discuss how women can drive sustainable supply chains.

Osa Igiehon, CEO of Heirs Energies, will share his insights on energy transition and security in a session focused on empowering Africa’s future through green investments. Heirs Energies has made significant strides in Nigeria, enhancing energy self-sufficiency through rapid expansion in oil and gas production, contributing to HH’s integrated energy strategy.

Muyiwa Akinyemi, Deputy Managing Director of United Bank for Africa Group, will engage in a roundtable session, imparting his perspective gained from a career at Africa’s Global Bank. UBA Group’s presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region underscores its commitment to promoting economic growth and fostering collaboration across borders.
