TTCL to launch affordable internet service

DAR ES SALAAM: The Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation (TTCL) is in the final stages of launching a new service called T-CAFÉ, aimed at providing affordable internet in public areas such as bus stations, train stations, airports, and universities.

This new service is part of TTCL’s efforts to connect Tanzania to the digital world and enable more people to access quality communication services.

Speaking at the 48th Sabasaba International Trade Fair, TTCL Board Chairperson, Ms Zuhura Muro, said: “We have come up with another project to provide services in public areas with a Public WIFI, where this service will be taken areas with many people like universities, public places and now we have come up with a new product called T-CAFÉ.”

According to TTCL board chairlady, T-CAFÉ will be operated in partnership with other service providers, such as coffee vendors in different parts of the country to ensure that customers receive the best possible service. She added that customers will be able to access the internet while enjoying food and drinks, making it easier and more efficient for them to continue with their daily activities.

Ms Muro added that TTCL has a great responsibility to ensure that internet and communication services are readily available and affordable to all Tanzanians.

“The Sixth Phase Government under the leadership of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan is already opening up many economic doors and putting Tanzania in a good position to attract investment,” she said and added: “TTCL has a great responsibility to ensure that internet and communication services are in good condition to enable businesses and investors to conduct their business digitally.”

The launch of T-CAFÉ is a significant step in achieving TTCL’s goal of connecting Tanzania to the digital world. This new service will help improve the lives of many Tanzanians by giving them the opportunity to access information and various services online.
