Twiga Stars Squad gear up for friendlies

TANZANIA: THE national women’s soccer team Head Coach Bakari Shime, has named a squad of 20 players who will enter camp to prepare for two upcoming friendly matches.
Twiga Stars camp is set to commence tomorrow, as the team prepares itself to face Tunisia and Botswana. Among the selected players are standout stars plying their trade abroad, known for their exceptional performances with their respective clubs.
These include Aisha Masaka from Bk Hacken in Sweden, Oppa Clement from Besiktas in Turkey and Clara Luvanga from Al Nasr FC in Saudi Arabia. Also in the list is Juletha Singano from Juarez in Mexico, Diana Lucas from Ame S.F.K in Turkey,
Enekia Kasonga from Eastern Flames in Saudi Arabia, and Maimuna Kaimu from ZED FC of Egypt.
Additionally, JKT Queens has contributed a total of seven players to the squad, namely Najat Abasi, Lidya Maximilian, Anastazia Katunzi, Joyce Lema, Janeth Christopher, Stumai Athuman and Winifrida Gerald. Simba Queens, the reigning champions of the Women’s Premier League, have added two players, Aisha Juma and Vailet Mwamakamba.

The squad also features Elizabeth Charles from Alliance Girls, Asha Mrisho from Amani Queens, Esther Maseke from Bunda Queens, and Protasia Mbunda of Fountain Gate Princess.
However, notably absent from the list are players from Yanga Princess, who finished third in the 2023/24 Women’s Premier League season.
The selection highlights a blend of domestic and international talent, reflecting Coach Shime’s strategy to assemble a formidable squad for the upcoming challenges.
