UNCDF steers up clean cooking drive campaign

DAR ES SALAAM: UNCDF Tanzania, through the European Union funded CookFund programme, is hosting a three-day clean cooking symposium in Dar es Salaam.
The symposium starting today, meets on the back of the launch of the 10-year national clean cooking strategy is themed “Market and Technological Transitioning Toward Clean Cooking in Alignment with the 2024 – 2034 National Clean Cooking Strategy”.
The aim is to bring together major stakeholders in the clean cooking value chain.
Peter Malika, Head of UNCDF Tanzania, said the symposium provides a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and action, driving us closer to our shared vision of a sustainable and healthy future for all Tanzanians.
“Bringing stakeholders together in forums such as this is crucial for aligning our efforts towards major sustainability goals,” she said.
The Deputy Minister of Energy, Ms Judith Kapinga, is expected to grace the event.
The symposium will host various stakeholders, including key government representatives, industry leaders, distributors and producers of clean cooking technologies, development organizations active in the promotion of clean cooking, and CookFund implementing partners including European Union, UN Industrial Development Organisation and UN Food and Agriculture Organisation.
The primary objective of the symposium is to highlight the opportunities available in the clean cooking value chain to stimulate market growth and drive progress towards the targets outlined in the National Clean Cooking Strategy (2024 – 2034).
