Village Group builds 26bn/- luxury villas in Z’bar

ZANZIBAR: ZANZIBAR’s Village Group Companies (TVGs) is investing some 10m US dollars (26bn/-) to build a state-of the-art luxurious villa at Sunset Bay in Unguja.

The construction, dubbed Azure Project, features the development of 54 villas in Michamvi southern Zanzibar.

Some of the villas featuring one, two and three bedrooms will be overwater.

Upon its completion in one year, the villa will be put to the housing market aiming at increasing luxury properties in Zanzibar.

Azure Project Founder and Director Simion Nikitas said the ambitious endeavour aims to develop a collection of high-end villas, catering to discerning investors and managed under renowned luxury hospitality brands worldwide.

“The project implementation is scheduled for this year and it will be completed by early next year,” Mr Nikitas said on Monday: “Each villa will boast a private pool, garden, and outdoor kitchen” and is equipped with innovative smart highend systems and solar panels.

The villas will come fully furnished.

Upon completion, the operations and management of Azure will be entrusted to an international hospitality management company, committed to delivering exceptional service and client experiences to patrons worldwide.

Minister of Tourism and Heritage Mudrik Soraga said the Isles government is dedicated to fostering an environment conducive to investment, particularly in the tourism sector.

Mr Soraga said the ongoing efforts to refine policies and regulations designed to simplify further tourism investment climate in the isles to premier destination.

Meanwhile, Southern Unguja Regional Commissioner Ayoub Mohammed Mahamoud stressed the importance of genuine partnerships between investors and local communities.

“Through collaborative endeavours, Zanzibar aims to revive its tourism landscape, embracing sustainability and inclusivity while showcasing the rich cultural and natural heritages,” he said.

TVGs also owns Shanga Hotels and Restaurants, Solymar Villas and a chain of supermarkets in Zanzibar.
